It will be a season defining contest for the Cats when they host West Coast in Friday’s semi final at the MCG.

Following the loss to Collingwood, we take a look at which Cats are in the selection mix to line-up against the Eagles.

Cameron Guthrie
Set to return this week after calf soreness saw him miss week one of the finals. Guthrie has been one of Geelong’s most consistent performers this season averaging 18 disposals, five tackles and four clearances per game.

Rhys Stanley will be in contention for a place in this week's team.

Rhys Stanley
Stanley will be in the frame for an immediate recall on Friday night to compete against the Eagles ruck pairing of Nic Naitanui and Tom Hickey. Was excellent the last time the two sides met in round six with 21 touches and 30 hitouts.

Zac Smith
Similar to Stanley, Smith will be in the selection mix this week with the Eagles set to go in with two ruckmen.

James Parsons
Named an emergency against the Pies, Parsons appears next in line for a midfield role should Brandan Parfitt or Cam Guthrie not get up.

Scott Selwood
Was one of Geelong’s best in their VFL practice match win against Collingwood. West Coast’s midfield bats very deep and Selwood could be considered to play a lock down role against his former side.

Charlie Constable
Chook's ability to extract the football and win the contested ball could see him included in this week's team if the selection committee feels they need a boost in that area.

Lachie Henderson
Has demonstrated in his five AFL games this year that he can play an important role at senior level. The key backman could be included to help shutdown Jack Darling and Josh Kennedy in attack.
