Geelong has named an unchanged team for Sunday’s clash with Collingwood at Victoria Park for the second week of the AFLW Indigenous Round.
Geelong will celebrate a milestone double on Sunday, with inaugural AFLW Cats Julia Crockett-Grills and Meghan McDonald set to become the first Cats AFLW players to play 50 games in the Hoops.
It will be Crockett-Grills’ 50th league match, while McDonald – who previously played with Western Bulldogs – brought up her league milestone in Round 4.
Crockett-Grills said the game was shaping up to be a great challenge for the Cats, who currently sit sixth on the ladder, ahead of the eighth-placed Magpies on percentage.
“We did well against them in the practice match earlier this year, so hopefully we can continue that,” Crockett-Grills said.
“It was great to get back to playing more our brand of football (against Walyalup last weekend). Everyone played their role again on the weekend and we played a bit more of a consistent four quarters, and we got more score on the scoreboard, which is what we’re trying to do each week.
“I think the ladder is looking pretty tight across the board, but I think that’s what makes the best football come out.”
First bounce is at 1.05pm on Sunday.
