Easter Monday’s clash over the Hawks saw Steve Johnson light up the MCG with a riveting show in the midfield.
Geelong’s veteran, who had a team high of 34 touches along with six clearances and three goals, received a total of 10 votes from both senior coaches for the AFL Coaches Association Award vote count.
Receiving his first votes for the year, Tom Hawkins was next in line with eight votes for his five-goal performance, which pushed the Cats win to 19 points.
Jimmy Bartel and Harry Taylor were also noted for their fight with three votes each.
Geelong’s skipper remains on top of the AFLca Leaderboard with 34 votes and Steve Johnson has moved into fourth place with 27.
