Geelong has selected Connor O’Sullivan with Pick 11 in the 2023 AFL National Draft on Monday night at Marvel Stadium.
O’Sullivan arrives at GMHBA Stadium from Albury Tigers, Murray Bushrangers in the Coates Talent League and the Allies in the National Championships.
Standing at 198cm, O’Sullivan is an elite endurance athlete who excels at both ground level and in the air.
A member of the AFL academy and the undefeated Allies team in the National Championships, O’Sullivan is a versatile player who has played across all three lines of the ground this season before finding a home down back, claiming All-Australian honours at centre half-back and MVP honours at the National Championships.
Geelong selected O'Sullivan after earlier trading pick 10 for picks 11 and 31 from Essendon.
Geelong Recruiting Manager Stephen Wells said the Club was thrilled to select O’Sullivan.
“We are really pleased to welcome Connor to the club, he is a versatile player with very high potential,” Wells said.
“He has had a remarkable 12 months for the Bushrangers and the Allies and his ability to play all areas of the ground is a highlight to his game.
“His aerial ability, composure, ability to intercept mark and his endurance at only 18 years of age is something we are really excited about, and we think Connor will be an excellent addition to the Geelong Football Club.”
