You never know quite what to expect from pre-season games.
And Geelong's JLT Community Series clash with Essendon in Bendigo on Sunday was most certainly unpredictable.
The Cats looked very flat during the first half, as the Bombers showed off their pace and direct ball-movement while racing to a 40-point lead at the long break.
But whatever was said in the rooms at half-time did the trick.
Chris Scott's men were a completely different outfit in the second half, piling on goals at will.
The deficit was erased in just 25 minutes of brilliant footy, and the Cats went on with the job in the last quarter.
By the end of the game there was a real sense of excitement in the Geelong camp about what lies ahead this season.
The Cats' star midfield duo, Joel Selwood and Patrick Dangerfield, showed they will be a serious force again in 2016.
Playing on his old home ground, Selwood was dynamic, crashing packs and dashing up and down the Queen Elizabeth Oval.

Danger was his usual self: a ball magnet who can seemingly do everything.
Tom Hawkins also found some form, kicking four goals in a remarkable third-quarter burst.
But there are plenty of questions facing the coaching staff in the lead-up to the massive round one clash with Fremantle at Domain Stadium.

And the form of Harry Taylor up forward against the Bombers means the greatest of those questions remains unanswered.
