Cameron Guthrie is set to make his return when the Cats take on Carlton at the MCG on Saturday.

The star midfielder last played in an official AFL match in Round 6 last year, making it 371 days between appearances at the top level for the two-time Carji Greeves medallist.

After a foot injury prevented Guthrie from taking the field for most of 2023, a quad injury in the Cats’ match simulation against Carlton in February delayed the start to his 2024 campaign.

Guthrie is among three inclusions for the Cats, with fellow 2022 Premiership players Rhys Stanley and Zach Tuohy returning after being managed last week against Brisbane.

Vice-captain Tom Stewart (concussion protocols) will miss the clash, while Toby Conway and Jhye Clark are the other outs.

Key defender Sam De Koning will celebrate a personal milestone on the weekend as he runs out for his 50th AFL match.

Geelong will wear commemorative guernseys for the Anzac Round Clash, featuring the name of every past Geelong Football Club player who served their country in conflict. You can find out more about the guernsey here.
