As the Cats enjoy a weekend off, we look ahead to what’s awaiting in the back half of the season with 10 games remaining in the home and away season.

Geelong enters the Round 14 bye week with an 8 – 5 record, currently sitting fifth on the AFL ladder with only one game separating second through to sixth.

The opening half of the season has provided plenty of highlights including Tom Hawkins breaking the Cats games record, the opening of the Joel Selwood stand, and a record home game attendance at the MCG against Carlton.

Geelong will now shift their focus to the back half of the season, with a great mix of timeslots and games both at home and away!

GMHBA Games

Geelong will play four games at GMHBA Stadium in the second half of the season, starting with a round 17 showdown against arch rival’s Hawthorn.

The Hawks visit Kardinia Park for just the second time in 18 years, with one of the greatest modern day rivalries in football set for another chapter.

The Cats return home in Round 19 to host the Western Bulldogs along with a clash against the Crows in Round 21, before the West Coast Eagles hit town in the final round of the season.

Melbourne Games

The Cats will face an important run of games at the home of football immediately after their bye, starting with a Friday night blockbuster against Carlton in round 15.

Round 16 will see the Cats head back to the MCG, for a clash with the Bombers in the annual Country Game.

The Cats will face the reigning premiers Collingwood in round 18, with the clash marking Geelong’s final trip to the MCG for the regular season.

The Cats’ final trip up the highway is to Marvel Stadium for a clash against Ross Lyon and the Saints in Round 23.

Interstate Trips

The Cats will leave Victoria twice in the back half of the season, starting with a trip to Hobart in Round 20 against North Melbourne.

Geelong have visited Blundstone Arena twice in AFL history, recording a 60 point win in 2022 and a 20 point victory in 2021 – both against the Kangaroos.

The final interstate trip for the home and away season will see the Cats visit Perth to face Fremantle in Round 22.
