Bruhn spoke with Cats Media following the exciting finish, touching on the result and how he felt during his return.

The body is feeling alright, it was very wet and slippery tonight so the body pulled up not too bad, but it was nice to be back out there with the boys,” Bruhn said.

“I thought the boys started really well around the footy, we were really strong in the contest, but we fell away a little bit in the second quarter.

“The message from the coaches was to get stronger around the footy, get the ball going forward, keep hunting and get our game moving a bit better.

“We fought hard there and scrapped it out until the end, but we will take a draw it is still better than a loss.”

In wet and slippery conditions at GMHBA Stadium, the Cats finished in a deadlock with Footscray to remain in the top four with only three games remaining.

It is shaping up to be a tight race to the finals, with only six points separating second to seventh on the VFL ladder.

Bruhn said it is great to see the development of Geelong’s young talent, who have been consistently performing at a high level this season.

“I love it, it is always good coming back and playing with these guys,” Bruhn said.

“We have got a really strong group and it is a young group as well.

“It Is good to see some of the boys getting their chance at the top level which is awesome, guys like Lawson Humphries and Shaun Mannagh.

“I thought the young boys were super tonight, we will keep building going forward.”

The VFL Cats take on North Melbourne at Arden Steet Oval on Saturday at 1.05pm.
