Shaun Mannagh made sure that his first trip to Perth would be a successful one, when he booted the game sealing goal against Fremantle on Saturday.

With the Cats holding a slender lead and less than two minutes on the clock, Mannagh streamed inside 50 and landed the final blow with a brilliant finish on the run.

It capped off another influential performance from the small forward, who collected 15 disposals and kicked two crucial goals to help Geelong secure an important win.

Mannagh is looking to make the most of his opportunity, relishing the chance to pull on the hoops each week.

“I am absolutely loving every second,” Mannagh told Triple M post game.

“This was my first time in Perth, you don't get to come over here in the VFL.

“I am relishing the opportunity that the Cats have given me and I am really grateful, I obviously played a bit of VFL throughout the year to learn the system.

“Since I came back in I am trying to grab the opportunity with both hands, trying to repay them for what they have given me.”

Mannagh has been in great form since returning in round 18 against Hawthorn, averaging 16 disposals and six tackles across the last six weeks.

The crafty small forward has also displayed his incredible goal sense, booting six goals in Geelong's previous three matches.

Securing an important win in Perth to move back into the top four, Mannagh said the Cats were able stick to their plans to close out the victory.

“It was pretty loud to be fair, that was one of the louder games I have played in,” Mannagh said.

“It is one of those situations that we train for throughout the week, to keep cool under pressure.

“With that many opposition fans it is a bit different and they were coming at us pretty hard, but we backed in our process.

“We made sure we covered the corridor because they were trying to get a late score, it was more process driven than anything else.”
