Under immense pressure and when the Cats needed him the most, Ollie Henry stood tall with a scintillating Preliminary Final performance against Brisbane.
Henry booted four goals on Saturday to match his career high, including the Cats final two majors to briefly snatch the lead back late in the contest.
Along with his own scoring prowess, the young forward also recorded a game high 10 score involvements to have a prolific impact in Geelong’s forward half.
Adding 15 disposals and six inside 50’s, it was a complete performance from Ollie Henry who handled the pressure brilliantly in his first Final at the MCG.
The Preliminary Final capped off another strong year for Henry, who hit the scoreboard in his last nine consecutive games and booted 37 goals for the season.
Cameron Ling and Meg McDonald discussed Henry’s impact on this week’s episode of ‘To the Final Bell.’
“Ollie was unbelievable, particularly when he missed one early which he would have been disappointed with but then to reset, push that aside and still have an outstanding game,” Ling said.
“It was an incredible game from Ollie, I think he had 10 score involvements as well.
“He really announced himself, how the storylines would have changed with a win or a loss.
“Is that his defining game, he has arrived on the big stage and there could have been a moment in that final quarter that went down in Cats history if we won.”
