There was one significant statistic that got overlooked in the Cats big win against the Suns, with all 21 Geelong players recording at least one score involvement last Saturday.

The incredible feat came as the Cats piled on 15 goals to run away with a 69-point victory, registering their first win of the 2024 AFLW season.

Mikayla Bowen led the way for Geelong with 10 score involvements, continuing her strong form in the early stages of the season with another impressive performance.

Aishling Moloney recorded seven score involvements, while Nina Morrison and Darcy Moloney both added six of their own to help the Cats cruise to a big win.

Claudia Gunjaca, Becky Webster and Georgie Rankin discussed Geelong’s incredible statistic on this week’s podcast of Cats AFLW podcast ‘Yeah the Girls!’

"One of my favourite stats was that we all had a score involvement, every single one of us,” Gunjaca said.

“It was a great win and very nice to get one on the board, a little bit of reward for effort.”

"Coming off the back of last week against Carlton where our contested football wasn't up to standard, the way we came in hunting the footy straight away around the contest was back to our best,” Webster added.

“That really gets our run and carry game going on the outside, as a high defender you can really trust the inside to out and run your patterns a lot better.

“It was really good to play our brand of football.”

Geelong will look to make it back-to-back wins this week, when they host Hawthorn at GMHBA Stadium on Thursday night.

The Hawks have started the 2024 season strongly winning three of their opening four games, setting up an enticing clash under the lights at Kardinia Park.
