Geelong Cats midfielder Amy McDonald will be sidelined for the next three to five weeks with a hamstring injury sustained during Thursday’s game against Hawthorn.

The midfielder sustained the injury in the second quarter, with Assistant General Manager Football Brett Johnson hoping to regain McDonald in the latter stages of the home and away
season.

It is really disappointing for Amy, she is a very important member to our midfield group and has had a great start to the season,” Geelong Cats Assistant General Manager of Football Brett
Johnson said.

“She will be sidelined for the next three to five weeks, and we look forward to seeing her back out there for back end of the home and away season.

The Cats will also be without Kate Surman for the two games in Week 6, after she entered the AFL’s concussion protocols following a knock in the second quarter on Thursday night.

Kate is working through concussion protocols and with the condensed fixture she will miss our next two games. The Club will continue to monitor her over the next period and determine her
return to play in due course.”

The Cats play the Dockers on Tuesday night at GMHBA Stadium, before heading to Henson Park on Sunday to face the Swans.
