Cameron on the takeaways from 2024

It stung at the time definitely and I think it always will, but I am old enough to know what to do with it now.

I put it behind me pretty quickly, coming back as fit as I possibly could be and working hard over the off-season.

I wanted to come back in the best shape I could to hopefully improve on my season, to help the club improve as well.

It is probably just a bigger picture approach to that, but we look forward to the challenge in Opening Round.

We know they are a really good team, the best team off the back of last year and it is going to show us where we are at.

Cameron on where he is looking to improve

I think I can always improve on everything.

I thought I was pretty inaccurate last year, and sort of floated in and out of games at times.

It is never going to be perfect, I play a lot of golf and it is like that, you never play a perfect round. It is always frustrating, there is always a missed putt or something you can improve on.

I look at it that way, gelling with Shannon Neale and the other guys up there is always an area for improvement.

Cameron on what the Cats learned from their AAMI Community Series match

I thought it was a really good hit-out to be honest.

It is probably what you want to get out of those sorts of games, no injuries and play some good hard footy.

Especially for three quarters I thought it was really good, a little bit slippery so we know what to expect going up to Queensland for Opening Round.

It is probably going to be pretty sweaty and slippery like the other night, it was a good hit-out and it will keep us in good stead for the opening game.

Cameron on Shannon Neale's role this year

They are big shoes to fill, but Shannon has been working away at Geelong pretty much since I got here.

He has been working really hard, we know how big and powerful he is. He is also strong and fast, we saw that in the game on Tuesday night.

There was a couple of times he really exploded away, he has shown us what he can do not just over this pre-season, but over a number of years.

He can launch at the footy and create a contest for us, that is all we really ask.
