Humphries on his mentality in 2025
I try not to look at the outcomes, I think that is something I learned from not getting drafted.
You have to look at the process and not worry too much about the outcomes, because that is probably when you start to play mind games with yourself.
I am trying to focus on the process, making sure I am training well, trying to get fitter and trying to improve everyday.
If you start focusing on the outcomes then it feels like you are always chasing something, so always looking to improve.
If accolades come then that is nice, but that is not why we play.
Humphries on the difference a year can make
I think if I looked back this time 12 months ago, I was probably getting ready for a VFL practice match and looking to have a good year in there.
It has definitely been a bit of a different preparation, but I am super excited.
We come here to play AFL footy, to play in those big games.
Brisbane at the Gabba for the first game of the year is exciting, I am taking it in my stride and I can't wait to get into it.
Humphries on who is he is learning from
I think it is still Zach Guthrie, I do a lot of work with him.
I have leaned on Mitch Duncan as well, looking for a bit of guidance because he is so experienced.
It is probably more the backs as a collective though, we have been working really well together. There is a lot of experience back there, I am certainly the most inexperienced by a long way.
I have a great group around me, guys like Mark Blicavs, Jack Henry and Tom Stewart so we have got a good group down there.
Humphries on facing Brisbane to start the season
It is a new year, it was a great game to be a part of last year.
We are lucky that we get to play the first game of the year against them, prime time Thursday night footy.
It should be a good one, I am excited to play in it and I know a lot of the other boys are pretty excited to get stuck into it.
I don't think we're thinking about the Prelim last year, it is a new year and we want to get off to a good start.
