Jake Kolodjashnij believes the key to beating the Bulldogs will be to slow down their ball movement when they meet at Marvel Stadium on Saturday night.

“The Doggies really like speed on the game, they’re quite talented, and they’re a really skilful team,” Kolodjashnij said.

“Plus playing at Marvel, they’re going to be a really dangerous threat, so we’ve got to be up for the challenge."

Last time the two sides met; Geelong recorded a 44-point win in round nine.

On that occasion the Cats were challenged when the Bulldogs opened them up on the outside and that has been a focus for the team at training this week.

“I think it’s going to be a real key for us to slow them up the best we can.”

“Just being really connected in defence, and our forwards really trying to slow them up and cut out their 45 kicks,” he said.

“And they really like to lower their eyes going inside 50, so we’ve got be right up on those leads.”

Kolodjashnij is set to play on Bontempelli when the star Dog rests forward and knows that he will need to be fully alert to curb his influence.

“The Doggies are really good at hitting up at the footy, and I think Bontempelli is really good with his forward craft like that."

“So, plenty of body early, and watching plenty of vision of how they like to enter the ball.

“That’s front of mind when I’m playing on blokes like that.”

The first bounce on Saturday will be at 7.25pm.
