GEELONG will be without forwards Gary Rohan and Esava Ratugolea for this Friday night’s clash with the Crows at GMHBA Stadium.
Coach Chris Scott ruled the duo out on SEN’s Whateley.
“Gary was always a player that we felt that we needed to be quite cautious with in his management,” Scott said.

“So even more than the concussion issue, it was just a matter of us saying: ‘What’s the benefit of playing him this week versus the reward?’
“He may well play another couple of games and we might choose to leave him out anyway to have him in as good a shape for the end of the season as possible.
“A number of factors added up that made us think irrespective of the medical assessment and direction, this is probably the week to take him out.”
Ratugolea also won’t take the field after some confidence earlier in the week.
“The one that will be a surprise to everyone and a disappointment to Geelong fans is that Esava Ratugolea won’t be ready,” Scott said.
“Again, it’s a surprise to us but if Gary Rohan’s in that cautious subgroup then Esava Ratugolea’s clearly in it as well.
“I’m not really in a position where I can give a clear indication as to when he will play.
“Certainly not this week, there’s a fair chance it won’t be next week as well.”
