Cats coach Chris Scott has credited Sam Menegola with playing a key role in his team's resurgence.
The 25-year-old missed three of Geelong's first five home and away games.
But he has been a mainstay in the team since tallying 22 disposals against Collingwood in round six and backing that up with 22 touches and three goals against Gold Coast in round seven.
"In totality, his first half of the year has been fantastic, and even more meritorious when you consider he was out of the team for a little while there," Scott said during his weekly press conference.
"He fought his way back in, and we've played better the last three weeks and he's been key to that.
"It's exciting for Sam because he's a hard worker and he's had a bit of a longer road to get to this point of his AFL career.
"But we're confident that ... he's in a position he can play for us really long-term."
