Geelong’s VFLW side will welcome back Cassie Blakeway for her first match of the season when the Cats host the Blues at GMHBA Stadium on Saturday.

Blakeway finished runner-up in the best and fairest last year and was one of six local pathway players recently signed to Geelong’s inaugural AFLW list.

Hannah Mangan returns to play her first match since injuring her should in round two, while Maddie Maguire comes in for her first game of the year.

The Cats are excited to have Georgia Clarke join the team for her first game in the blue and white hoops. Georgia is an extremely talented young defender who is part of the AFLW Academy and will represent Victoria Country in the upcoming U18 National Championships.

Saturday’s match kicks off at 4:30pm as a curtain-raiser to AFL Round 10 fixture between Geelong and Carlton at 7.25pm.

All three Geelong sides (AFL, VFL and VFLW) will be wearing indigenous guernseys this weekend to celebrate Djilang round.
