Geelong midfielder Patrick Dangerfield highlighted Geelong’s ball movement as an area of review after their shock 34-point loss to Essendon.
Speaking to K rock Football after the game, Dangerfield highlighted the pressure that Essendon applied as a reason why Geelong’s ball movement faulted at times.
“The challenge that we weren’t able to meet today (Saturday) was just to remain calm and composed, and move the ball the way that we want to,” Dangerfield said.
“I felt we moved it really deep quickly and that played into the way Essendon defended. What we want to do is transition the ball out of our defence and then at the right time, when we are to overlap and give our forwards a good look one-on-one, then move it quickly.”
Tim Kelly went at 43% disposal efficiency, while Gary Ablett went at 58% and Joel Selwood 60%.
