Former Geelong premiership players Cameron Mooney and Tom Lonergan have been selected to take part in the EJ Whitten Legends Game later this month.
Mooney will line up for the All Stars, while Lonergan will line up for the Victorians.
Cameron Mooney was a focal point of the Cats forward line after crossing from the Kangaroos at the start of 2000. Mooney is a two-time premiership player for Geelong, playing key roles in the drought breaking 2007 and the 2009 flags.
Mooney played 210 games for the club, kicking 295 goals, which included a bag of five in the 2007 premiership.
Tom Lonergan’s career was almost cut short after a collision in 2006 against Melbourne which saw him lose one of his kidneys. Lonergan returned to AFL in 2008, where he kicked 36 goals before reinventing himself into one of the best key defenders of the modern era. He played a huge role in the 2011 premiership after being moved onto Travis Cloke and kept him goalless.
Lonergan retired at the end of 2017, with 209 games and 55 goals to his name.
The game has moved to Adelaide Oval for the second time after being held at Etihad Stadium since 2003. It will be held on Friday 31 August.
