Geelong forward Esava Ratugolea underwent surgery late on Sunday after suffering fractures to his fibula and tibia at the ankle in Saturday night’s win over Carlton.

The surgery saw a plate and screws inserted to stabilise the injury.

There is no timeframe for Ratugolea’s return. This will come once his recovery from the fractures and surgery begins.
