Cats Harry Taylor and Kate Darby will be on hand today as the Geelong Cats and GMHBA spread the Healthy Heroes message at a parent and child workshop.
Healthy Heroes presented by Geelong Cats and GMHBA is a program that aims to empower Grade 3 and 4 students to make good choices about their health and wellbeing.
The program is delivered by Geelong Cats players and trained facilitators and focuses on healthy eating, physical activity, hydration, screen time and sleep.
This afternoon, families will be taken through key topics of Healthy Heroes to build their knowledge and understanding in a fun and engaging way.
“GMHBA are proud to partner with the Geelong Cats to deliver the Healthy Heroes program,” Mark Valena, CEO GMHBA said.
“It’s great to extend the important messages of health and wellbeing that we deliver to primary school students to the most important role models in our community, the parents.”
The workshop will allow parents and children to bond while providing a fun, creative and memorable educational experience.
“One of the things we’re looking to achieve through Healthy Heroes is to increase young children’s knowledge and to build that knowledge into positive behaviour change. Educating families is a key component to this,” Geelong Cats General Manager Community Sarah Albon said.
