Second-year player Wylie Buzza is knocking on the door for senior selection, according to senior coach Chris Scott.
The 21-year-old ruck-forward has kicked seven goals in five VFL games and been named as one of the Cats’ best twice.
Buzza made significant progress in his development through the pre-season, including a best on ground performance as captain in a practice match against Collingwood.
Speaking on this week’s episode of Momentum Energy’s #AskTheCoach, Chris Scott said the Queenslander’s chance may come soon.
“We’re really, really impressed with Wylie Buzza’s application and performance at VFL level – both as a ruckman and a key forward,” Scott said.
“It can be really hard to break into the team when you play those positions, because obviously there’s only a couple of spots in the team.”
“But he’s doing everything right at the moment and there is some possibility that a chance will open up for him at AFL level in the next month or two.”
