Geelong has rounded out their 2018 playing list with the re-drafting of Matthew Hayball and the acquisition of Stewart Crameri from the Western Bulldogs in Monday’s AFL Rookie Draft.
Following on from the selections of Lachlan Fogarty, Tim Kelly, Charlie Constable and Gryan Miers at last week’s National Draft that Cats used their two selections in the Rookie Draft to place delisted utility Hayball and former Bomber and Bulldog Crameri on the Rookie List.
Hayball, rookie pick 31, was delisted by the Cats in October with the understanding the Cats would re-select him as a rookie if he was still available.
Crameri, rookie pick 16, has played 99 AFL games since debuting for the Bombers in 2010.
At the end of the 2013 season, Crameri was traded to the Western Bulldogs for pick 26. Upon arriving at the Dogs, Crameri was a key member of the forward line booting 69 goals in the 2014 and 2015 seasons.
Crameri was among 33 current and former Bombers players who were banned for the 2016 AFL season by the AFL’s anti-doping tribunal. Crameri’s 2017 season was ruined by hip injuries restricting him to just two games.
