The AFL Coaches' Association Player of the Year award is becoming a race between Geelong star Patrick Dangerfield and Richmond gun Dustin Martin.
Dangerfield received the maximum 10 votes after racking up 45 disposals in a sensational display against Greater Western Sydney on Saturday night.
Sam Menegola, Mitch Duncan and Harry Taylor were the other Cats to poll votes.
Dangerfield now trails Martin by one vote on the overall leaderboard.
However, Dangerfield is 15 votes clear of third-placed West Coast player Elliot Yeo.
