Greater Western Sydney could welcome back two stars for its blockbuster clash with Geelong on Saturday night, with Josh Kelly and Devon Smith set to face fitness tests.
22-year-old Kelly has elevated himself to become one of the game’s best midfielders in 2017, but missed the Giant’s 60-point win over Brisbane last week with a hip injury. He is expected to train through the week and be ready to face the Cats.
Small forward and former Geelong Falcon Devon Smith is also considered a chance to return in what would be a surprise selection. Smith was expected to miss up to twelve weeks following knee surgery, but has sat out just half of that to come into the mix against his hometown team.
The Giants will announce their team on Thursday night.
