Timm House still can't quite believe he has been drafted onto the Cats' AFL list.
The 21-year-old was helping his family with the grain harvest back home at Gnowangerup in rural Western Australia when he received the call that changed his life.
"I was sitting in my truck, not tractor [as some early reports suggested], delivering some barley to the silo storage site and got a phone call from one of my mates saying, 'You've been drafted,'" House told Cats Media.
"All the truckies were looking at me ... it was a very nice surprise."
House admits to feeling a bit guilty that his father has now lost his No. 1 truck driver in the middle of the most important time of the year on the family farm.
"I think he'd prefer to have me on the truck," House said. "But he's certainly very understanding and I think he's pretty happy for me."
House first came to Geelong to play for GFL club Newtown & Chilwell in 2015.
He was then invited down to Simonds Stadium to do a pre-season with the Cats' VFL team.
A strong key position player who can play up forward and down back, he ended up playing 12 VFL games in 2016, kicking 19 goals, including a haul of five against Sandringham.
