Patrick Dangerfield is ready for a hostile reaction from the crowd when he fronts up against his former club at Adelaide Oval on Friday night.
But the star midfielder, who won Adelaide's best and fairest last season, won't be taking it personally if the Crows fans decide to boo him.
"It’s all a bit of fun, and I’m ready to cop it," he told Adelaide Advertiser chief football writer Michelangelo Rucci.
"The great thing about professional sport is the way supporters embrace a team.
"That’s why we play and what we enjoy as players.
"I have great memories of that incredible reaction at Adelaide Oval when I’ve been with the home team with the home fans.
"I’ve left the home team ... I am, as Neil Craig would say, 'the enemy'. So I have to cop whatever they want to serve up. That’s part of sport.
"It’s up to the fans to decide [how they react].
"I’ll control what I can control."
