Geelong have scored some more recruiting coups this off-season, but this time online.

Esteemed journalist Adam McNicol will join the Cats as senior writer for geelongcats.com.au whilst premiership forward Cameron Mooney will join the CatsTV stable.

McNicol has previously worked with WIN News, Channel 10 and The Age. Most recently, he spent four years working for AFL Media, where he was responsible for covering the fortunes of the Cats for AFL.com.au and the AFL Record.

McNicol has also had a hand in two of the AFL’s most talked about autobiographies: David Schwarz’s All Bets Are Off and Brendan Fevola’s In My Own Words. He is currently helping Brisbane Lions legend Jonathan Brown put together his life story, which will be titled Browny and be released in time for Father’s Day.

McNicol will complement the Cats’ already substantial online coverage, including CatsTV, which took out the Best Club Video award in the AFL for 2014.

McNicol says he is excited to provide Cats fans with exclusive insight from the club.

"It is a great opportunity to get to work with one of the best digital teams in the competition, at such a great club, and with a playing group that genuinely wants to engage with its many supporters," he said.

Mooney will join premiership teammates Matthew Scarlett and Cameron Ling in returning to the Cattery albeit in an off-field role. Since retiring from AFL football, Mooney has become one of the AFL’s best up and coming media talents in his roles for SEN and Fox Footy. Cats fans will be able to hear from Mooney during the preseason and on regular programs throughout the home and away season.

Cats fans will also gain insight from Herald Sun journalist Scott Gullan as he returns for his sixth season on CatsTV.
