AS A JUNIOR Cory Gregson was not only talented enough to participate in high level football, but was also a talented gymnast.
Cory began gymnastics at the age of four starting at Hub Gymnastics Club before landing a scholarship at South Australia’s GYM-JETS program in Marion, and won multiple national titles as a State representative in his age group.
At the age of 14, he made the decision to continue playing football and gave up gymnastics to focus on making it to the Australian Football League (AFL).
He was rewarded in last November’s AFL draft, where he was picked up by league powerhouse Geelong at pick #47.
Gregson’s agility, speed and core strength, which he had developed from his extensive gymnastics background, appealed heavily to the Cats when selecting him.
Check out these snaps of a very young Cory in action.
