THIS week’s PodCats episode includes some predictions about which first- to third-year Geelong players will have the greatest impact on the competition over the next decade.
AFL Media’s Pete Ryan believes Darcy Lang, who kicked two goals against Hawthorn on Saturday night, has the potential to enjoy a long and decorated career.
“I think Darcy Lang is my new favourite Geelong player, and I think he looks like an absolute certainty to play 250 [games], well, 200-plus let’s say ” Ryan said.
“He just has clean hands and makes good decisions.”
Adam McNicol, meanwhile, has earmarked Jackson Thurlow, who was recently nominated for the NAB Rising Star award, as a player who could be an All Australian in years to come.
“He’s going to play across half-back, Enright-style, and he can kick the ball like no other,” McNicol said.
Other players mentioned on PodCats as potential stars were Cory Gregson, Jake Kolodjashnij, Nakia Cockatoo and Dean Gore.
