Brown has had minor surgery on his shoulder to remove pins from a previous operation. The pins were irritating the shoulder with the club deciding it best to take a cautious approach and have them removed now.
Schroder strained his calf at training on Thursday morning taking him out of contention for selection this week. The club will have further information on his prognosis at a later point.
In good news for the Cats, Billie Smedts and Shane Kersten are set to play for the Cats VFL side this Saturday against Collingwood.
