Which Cat lifts at the MCG?
On Cats TV Tom Lonergan and Hamish McIntosh predict which Cat is most likely to takeover the show at the MCG
Which Cat will thrive on the open expanses of the MCG?
Reliable defender Tom Lonergan told Argue the Toss on Cats TV he expects Steven Motlop to burn up the MCG turf in this Friday night’s Semi Final.
The open space of the MCG will provide opportunities for some fast paced Cats like Motlop to shine.
“Stevie Motlop is probably the biggest one, he enjoys playing at the G’, a big ground with a lot of space to get it long into our forward line.
“Stokesy and Bundy (Christensen) up forward will create a lot of headaches for Port’s defenders and put a lot of pressure on and hopefully we can score a lot.”
The MCG is a ground the Cats are used to in September, playing 16 finals there since 2007 for 12 wins.
“I think most teams would get up playing at the MCG, it’s the colosseum of the AFL,” Lonergan said.
“When it’s packed with 95,000 there’s nothing better than running out and doing something good.
“You get the shivers down the spine and you feel pretty good about yourself.”
