Game changer, Adam Goodes, is feeling excited about Friday night’s challenge against the Cats. Last time the Swans played under the lights was against Collingwood at ANZ stadium in the preliminary final last year.

Not only will it provide a great spectacle for the fans to watch two big teams under the bright lights at the SCG, it will also be a heavy battle, as both teams will fight to keep their 2013 winning streak alive.

Goodes acknowledges that the Cats are playing well and delivering consistent footy. He has noticed that they haven’t lost their ability to control the movement of the ball when things get heated.

“They’re playing some good footy and all the preview stuff on them (shows) they’re up and about,” Goodes told www.sydneyswans.com.au.

“They’re moving the ball quite well through the middle of the ground, which they’ve been able to do quite consistently for the last seven years.”

However, Goodes believes that the Swans are up for the challenge and will be able to enjoy the spotlight on their home ground.

“It’s a great challenge but it’s our home deck and we’re up for that challenge, and we’re going out there to get those four points,” Goodes said.

Goodes highlights the respect that is shared between the Cats and the Swans. He sees Geelong as a very similar team and he enjoys the contest and admires the Cats tough brand of footy.

“We’ve got a lot of respect for Geelong and they do for us, and we’re similar in the fact that we do like a lot of one-on-one battles, very much a contested team,” Goodes explained.

“We like the way they play their footy and we’re going to try and restrict that as best as we possibly can on the weekend, and they’re going to do the same thing to us.”
