This week Cats TV asked Tom Lonergan and Hamish McIntosh who would be the best fit to take Corey Enright’s position in defence for this week’s Semi Final against Port Adelaide?

This Friday Corey Enright, who damaged his knee during last week’s Qualifying Final, will miss his seventh game since 2006.

The formidable veteran will be a tough player to replace, however, the Cats are confident that both, Josh Hunt and young Taylor Hunt, are fit for the job.

“It is a massive void to cover, he’s a super star,” Tom Lonergan told Cats TV.

“Not only is he a great player, his leadership out on the field is first class. He’s going to be very hard to cover, but in saying that we’ve got some good players that are ready to go.”

“Taylor Hunt and Josh Hunt are both there and waiting in the wing. I’m sure one of those can step back in and play a role for the team.”

Hamish McIntosh, who has only been at the club since the beginning of this year’s preseason, says around the club the 31 year-old is regarded as one of Geelong’s greatest footballers. Nevertheless, McIntosh also believes one of the Hunt players will be more than capable of stepping into Enright’s large boots Friday night.

“He’s an unbelievable player and he’s got the highest amount of respect around this footy club,” McIntosh said.

“He’s going to be a tough person to cover but both Taylor and Josh (Hunt) are playing really good footy and Josh is a two-time premiership player, so I’m sure he’s ready to jump in and he’ll fill the void pretty well and play his role on the weekend.”
