Steve Johnson was the highlight of last week’s game against Port Adelaide, snatching the highest number of votes for his premium performance in the midfield.   

Both senior coaches, Chris Scott and Ken Hinkley, awarded Johnson with 10 votes, after his delivery of 33 possessions, nine tackles and one goal.  

Harry Taylor wasn’t far behind, receiving eight votes for his classy show in defence, with 29 touches and 10 marks.

Johnson and Taylor are both on 31 votes each for the AFL coaching association awards, putting them in seventh place on the overall tally with Nathan Fyfe from Fremantle. Gary Ablett is still in the lead on 50 votes.
