The Geelong Football Club is mourning the passing of former Premiership player Hugh Routley.

Hugh played 27 games for Geelong between 1959 and 1964 and was a member of Geelong’s 1963 premiership team.

The wingman was known for his blistering pace and ability to break away with the ball. He had good spring for his size and opponents rarely gained easy kicks because of his willingness to chase.

Hugh was also a member of Geelong’s Reserve Grade 1964 Premiership team.

The club offers its heartfelt condolences to Hugh’s family and friends.

The Private Family Funeral will be held on Thursday September 17, 2020 at 2.00pm. Family and friends can tune into the service via this link.
