GMHBA Stadium will be visited by one of the world’s best in May but they won’t be wearing football boots.
One of the world’s finest French Chef’s, Philippe Mouchel, will prepare a five-course degustation with matching wines for attendees of the upcoming Dining Collective presented by Higher Mark on May 24.
Mouchel, who was born in Normandy and began his culinary career at 16, is the owner- head chef of renowned Collins St eatery Philippe.
“My background is definitely more traditional French cooking, but I also enjoy a more contemporary cuisine with new techniques and flavours, and Australia is definitely the place to be.” Mouchel said.
Mouchel’s career has seen him serve diners in France, Japan, Hong Kong and the US, before a move to Australia in 1991 with his family saw him become with of the country’s most acclaimed chefs.
Despite his world acclaim, Mouchel is very much focussed on the local when it comes to cooking.
“This is how cooking should be, local and seasonal, helping local and small producers is very important for them to survive, and for chefs to use artisan producers.” Mouchel said.
Anyone looking to book into the five-course degustation with matching wines and an address from Mouchel can book via the link below. Tickets are $149 per person with discounts offered for bookings of ten or more.
