Stokes was booked for striking Richmond's Steven Morris and was handed a two week suspension reduced to one week with an early guilty plea.
Stokes will now miss the Cats blockbuster with Fremantle in Perth on May 17.
In the other incident out of the game, the Tigers Brett Deledio will challenge his two week suspension for striking Stokes.
