GEELONG'S VFL team has continued its unbeaten start to the season with a 45-point victory against the Northern Bullants at Marvel Stadium on Thursday night.
Despite a four-day turn around the Cats recorded a 17.15 (117) to 11.6 (72) win against a gallant Bullants side.
The first half was a solid contest with both teams getting on the end of some good scores coming off quality ball movement across the ground.
Skipper Aaron Black and ruckman Darcy Fort were particularly dominant behind the ball, taking 15 marks between them including several key intercepts throughout.
Fort was a standout across the four quarters finishing with 28 disposals, 25 hitouts and nine clearances, putting his hand up for senior selection.
It was Geelong's big men that setup the victory for the Cats with Josh Jenkins outstanding in attack kicking 7.5 and collecting nine marks and 14 contested possessions.
While he had some great service heading inside 50, Jenkins simply out-muscled the Bullants' defenders when the footy came his way.
"I'm just enjoying playing footy to be honest," Jenkins said post-game.
"I just go out there, play my part and try and play well."
The 'Bankers' might have their own Mitch Duncan/Tom Hawkins-like duo on their hands this season. With Jenkins physically dominating and Darcy Lang providing him plenty of opportunities to do so, it's a welcome sight for any Geelong supporter watching.
"Darcy Lang is really good, right and left foot which helps because you can lead either way and that opens up the whole ground," Josh said.
"There are guys that you like to lead to and other guys who you know you need to get out the back and get best position.
"That stuff you only learn by doing it at training with guys and doing stuff afterwards and then in games playing together."
As a senior player, Jenkins also sees how we can impact the game through the young brigade as well as at full-forward.
"Hopefully those sorts of things, aspects of the game are things I can help the young guys with and learn how to be in sync," he said.
"I guess the main thing is to put yourself where the ball is going to go, then you give yourself a chance."
Another notable name that had a day out was Jordan Clark.
The young-gun had 29 disposals at 83% efficiency, to go with eight tackles and eight inside 50s.
Geelong will face Casey in Round 5 next Saturday, 2pm at Casey Fields.
