COACH Chris Scott hinted at his press conference on Wednesday that small forward Gryan Miers is set to return against the Bombers on Friday night.

Ahead of the annual Powercor Country Festival blockbuster at GMHBA Stadium, geelongcats.com.au takes a look at which players are in the selection mix, presented by Vital Strength.

Gryan Miers

Gryan Miers is ‘right to go’ according to Chris Scott following his 18 disposal and two-goal performance in Geelong’s big VFL win against Brisbane.

“I think he is right to go,” Scott said.

“He’s a smart player, good goal sense and he’s an elite runner, and when you take elite runners out of your team it always has a bit of an impact. So, we are looking forward to getting some of those things back from him.”

Quinton Narkle

Narkle is another Cat in contention to return against the Bombers after an eye-catching 26 disposal performance last weekend.

The 23-year-old was particularly damaging bursting from stoppages with six clearances and a game-high seven inside 50s.

“I’d love to have him in the team and never have him go out again for a decade, but it is not that simple and we still need to work through it a bit.”

“One of the unfortunate things for Quinton is that he has been an outstanding sub for us as well but there is no certainty there, you can’t go in with a guy thinking he is going to have an impact in half a game if you don’t have an injury.

“We are not going to leave him out of our 22 for too long that’s for sure.”

Charlie Constable

Had a mammoth day out with 44 disposals, 17 score involvements, 10 clearances and a goal to be named best-on-ground.

"Charlie is virtually always in the mix. He continually does the right things outside of games and he performs well in the games when he gets his chances," Scott said.

"He is in a similar boat to others in that we have some pretty credentialed players playing in his position, but that doesn't mean he can't force his way in through performances like that."

Others

Francis Evans and Ben Jarvis caught the eye in attack with four and three goals respectively. Sam De Koning had some great moments down back with multiple 50/50 defensive wins to provide selectors with an alternative option in defence, Oscar Brownless (32 disposals) and Max Holmes (23 disposals, one goal) were strong performers in the midfield, and Darcy Fort and Rhys Stanley will be in the mix again for a ruck berth.
