Nina Morrison 'can play tomorrow' according to recently appointed AFLW senior coach Dan Lowther.
Lowther joined Scott Gullan and Tom Lonergan on the latest episode of the ‘To The Final Bell’ podcast.
“She wants to play but she is not allowed to just yet,” Lowther said.
“She is tracking really well and wanted to play for weeks, and probably could have but we want to make sure she is in a good mindset and framework for pre-season which starts in September and then just gradually release her as she’s ready to go.”
Lowther has been impressed with the leadership Morrison has demonstrated both on and off the field during her rehab and is looking forward to what she can bring when she returns to the field.
“We only saw a brief taste of what she could do with 27 possessions in her first game and then she goes down with injury, so to have her back in the fold within a young group is exciting.”
“She is a leader on the field and certainly a leader off the field.”
