The annual Powercor Country Festival will return for its seventh year when Geelong take on Essendon at the MCG in Round 1 of the 2022 AFL Season.

The Cats and the Bombers will kick off their campaigns on Saturday, March 19 at 2.10pm, with member tickets on sale on Tuesday, 1 March via Ticketek. General public tickets will be available from 10am, Wednesday, 2 March.

With the support of regional electricity provider, Powercor, the Country Festival aims to celebrate and recognise the role rural and regional communities play in the success and prosperity of Victoria, and through the game itself and pre-match festival, bring a bit of country flavour to the city for the day. Fans will be treated to a range of exciting activations and giveaways on the day with a Farmer’s Market, food trucks, footy activities and inflatables, spread across the Yarra Park precinct. There also be live music from Imogen Clarke, the Mik Maks, Field, See & Mason, and headliner Casey Barnes.

Half-Cat and Clawdia will be around for photos with the kids and a pop-up Cats Shop will be onsite for all your new-season Cats merchandise.

All festivities begin at 10am, so get there early and show your support for our regional communities, and kick off the 2022 AFL season in style.
