After a big preliminary final win over Collingwood, the VFLW Cats will be looking to continue that run of momentum against Hawthorn in the Grand Final on Sunday.
The Cats kept Collingwood to just one goal in the opening three quarters in a dominant display of football.
Speaking to Cats Media after the game, star forward Maddie Boyd says that ‘we’ve had great momentum coming into these finals.’
“The backend of the season, we really started to gel together and I think we have continued to bring that into finals.” Boyd said.
“We just have to do for one more week and the result will take care of itself.”
The Cats won three of their last four games of the home and away season by an average of 47 points, with their only hiccup coming against fellow Grand Finalist Hawthorn in round 16, losing by 16 points.
The Cats continued that form into week one of the finals, defeating minor premiers NT Thunder by nine points.
Catch the VFLW Grand Final this Sunday at Etihad Stadium starting at 12:30pm.
Gates open at 12pm. Tickets start from $15 with kids U15 FREE.
