Geelong Cats have bolstered its coaching staff with the acquisition of Steven King as an assistant coach. 
 
For the past two seasons King has held the role of Senior Assistant Coach at the Gold Coast Suns where he also stepped into the interim senior coaching position during the season. 

Prior to joining the Suns, King was part of the Western Bulldogs coaching staff for 10 seasons which included the 2016 Premiership and 2021 Grand Final. 
 
The former ruckman played 240 AFL games across a 15-year playing career at both the Cats and St Kilda. King captained the Cats from 2003-06, was part of the 2007 Premiership side and selected in the 2000 All Australian Team. 
 
Geelong Cats General Manager - Football Andrew Mackie welcomed King back to GMHBA Stadium.
