Holmes on the Start of Pre-Season

Yeah it was great, it was good fun being back.

We had a massive crew of young boys, we had a big draft haul this year and last year so it was a bit of fun.

We were down at Deakin, it always feels like pre-season when we are out there.

It was great to be back. 

Holmes on his Focus During Pre-Season

In no way did I have a perfect year last year, so I definitely want to keep improving.

There is little things that I will be trying to work on this pre-season, to try and make sure that happens.

We are going to need to rely on a lot of people improving as well, I am pretty confident that can happen. 

Holmes on Bailey Smith

I have done a couple of training sessions with Bailey, he loves training the house down.

He is a fantastic bloke and I think he is going to be really good for us as a team.

We do have a lot of older players, we have a lot of younger players but we don't have as many around his age. It is good to have that bit of diversity, he comes in as someone that a lot of the boys will look up to.

He is going to set some standards around here, obviously he is a fantastic player and we have seen some incredible footy from him. I can't wait to start playing alongside him. 

Holmes on Using 2024 as Motivation

Last year in that Preliminary Final, we had a lot of young boys playing and a lot of guys that haven't experienced that sort of loss and heartbreak.

There are a lot of boys that have worked really hard in this off season, a lot of boys that are going to work hard in the pre-season. It is really spurring a lot of guys on.

Then there is obviously guys that have missed out on that team last year as well, that really want to step forward and make their mark this year.

You don't necessarily need a motivator to try and play good footy, but it definitely is one for us this year.
