The 2018 Powercor Country Festival in Yarra Park will be a culinary experience not to be missed with Food and Wine Victoria and The Food Purveyor confirmed as official regional produce partners of the festival.
Proudly supported by Regional Development Victoria, the festival features more than 50 farmers market stalls this year showcasing the best food and wine from across regional Victoria.
The Food Purveyor has been involved with the Powercor Country Festival for the last three years, while Food and Wine Victoria, who run the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival, have partnered with the event for the first time this year.
The Food Purveyor Managing Director Nicole Newman said the festival was an opportunity to bring a taste of the country to the city.
“This event helps to create long-lasting growth in Agri Businesses in Regional Victoria,” Newman said
“We have many products that will be showcased this year across more than 50 stalls in the farmers market of the festival”
The range of products including everything from Spiced Candied Walnuts, Cranberry & White Chocolate Biscuits, Spiced Salty Cashews, homemade Jams and Chutneys, Olive Oils, Cordials, Pasties, Souvlakis, Baked Potatoes, Abalone, Brownies, Muesli, Fresh Produce and the most popular favourite from last year, the delicious chocolate coated pretzels.
Newman said the Food Purveyor has a focus on food production and being able to impact small rural communities.
“This is a journey for these producers to cultivate an idea and watch it grow from small beginnings - they have the initiative to start with an idea but don’t always know how to get it to market and that is where we come in.”
“The Food Purveyor offers extensive knowledge in production, supply chain, retailing and marketing – we want them to succeed, grow and prosper.”
Food and Wine Victoria Executive Director Jane Brook said, the Powercor Country Festival provides an opportunity for us to showcase some of the wonderful produce on offer in Victoria’s regions, including Ballarat, Daylesford and the Mornington Peninsula. “We are thrilled that footy fans attending the game will be treated to produce from Inglenook Dairy, Piper Street Food Co, The Forge Pizzeria, The Flying Calamari Brothers and Timboon Fine Ice Cream.”
