Reigning Cats best and fairest Mark Blicavs is set to be an everywhere man again in 2016.
There has been speculation that the arrival of Zac Smith and the return to fitness of Rhys Stanley will enable Blicavs to play almost solely as a midfielder.
But although the dynamic big man has been playing as a midfielder in many match-simulation training drills, he’s expecting to fill a range of positions.
“I’m going to play wherever the coaches need me,” Blicavs told CatsTV during in an interview that forms part of our pre-season video series.
“I’ve been doing quite a bit of work through the midfield and on the wing, but there’s always talk of playing that second ruck position as well.”
Blicavs has been listed as midfielder/ruckman in the ever-popular AFL Fantasy game, and the 24-year-old believes that pretty much sums up his role this year.
“I can’t be more specific that that, actually,” he said.
“I think once again I’ll just be all over the place.”
