Geelong has informed Michael Luxford he will not be on the club’s senior list in 2017.
One of the country’s elite junior basketballers, Luxford joined Geelong as a rookie at the end of 2013.
Luxford made his AFL debut in round 10, 2015 and played two games. He was then upgraded to the senior list at the end of 2015.
Over his three seasons the 21-year-old played two AFL games and 46 VFL games in the blue and white hoops.
Geelong’s general manager of football Steve Hocking thanked Michael for his time at the club.
“Michael is an impressive sporting talent who worked diligently on his game to transition from basketball to football. He was popular amongst his teammates and we wish him all the best in his future sporting endeavours.”
