Today Harry Taylor joined Cats TV for Opposition Breakdown, where he set his focus on one of the most highly regarded ruckman in the competition, Will Minson, number 27 for the Western Bulldogs.

Taylor is confident the 199cm ruckman is the one to look out for when the Cats battle against the dogs on Saturday night at Etihad Stadium.

According to Taylor, Minson is one of the league’s leading ruckmen, as he currently sits on top of the list for the total number of hit-outs this season.

“He’s a terrific tap ruckman, leader in the competition at the moment for total hit-outs, hit-outs one and also hit-out two advantage,” Taylor told Cats TV.

Along with Minson’s successful activity in the ruck, he also displays great qualities in attack and moves the ball effectively.

“He is also a very capable ball winner, averaging 14 disposals a game and three clearances. It’s a terrific stat for one of the premier ruckmen in the competition,” Taylor said.

Taylor concludes the only way that Geelong can minimize Minson’s play on the ball, is to pounce early and restrict his damage in the ruck.

“We need to try and negate his influence in terms of the hit-outs as much as we possibly can, try and compete really hard in the ruck, get our hands on the ball as early as we can and try and stop their midfield from taking advantage,” Taylor said.
